In response to "So in reading the Dunkirk reviews: Do Americans really not know the story?" by JD

I know the story fairly well, which is why I found the film frustrating. (Spoiler maybe?)

The filmmaking is phenomenal, but Nolan skews the timelines of the various stories so much I think audiences will get the wrong idea of how things transpired. The film made it seem like it took two days for the boats to get to France from England, and planes took almost as long. I prefer my historical dramas to be linear, dammit!
