I would always quit my job if I won the lottery, but even more so if death in the line of duty was involved.

Sweetheart Deputies Win $75 MillionAOL

(May 6) - Two sheriff deputies in the San Francisco area stepped forward as the latest multimillionaire lottery winners and said they will give part of their $75 million jackpot to four local families of slain police officers.
Brian Cabaud, 31, and Anneliese Hansen, 24, claimed Monday the Mega Millions prize they won in last Friday's drawing. The couple works in the Marin County Sheriff's Department and live together in a nearby town, reported the San Francisco Chronicle.

The two are taking some time off from work to "think, really," Cabaud said. "It's very new and overwhelming, and we just really haven't had any time to make any decisions." Though they did say that one of the first things they will do is go to Disneyland.
They also intend to donate money to the families of four Oakland, Calif. police officers who were shot and killed by a parolee.
The pair have 60 days to choose between taking the cash or annuity option. If they pick the cash option, they would each receive about $24 million, before federal taxes, according the California Lottery.
Either way, they imagine that their "normal, blue-collar" lives will stay much the same. "We go to work, and we're at work. We devote ourselves to work. And then when we get home, we're off, and that's our life, you know? And I don't think that's really going to change," according to Cabaud.
Cabaud bought the lucky ticket, with the winning combination of 9, 16, 24, 40, 43 and the Mega number 35, at a gas station during his lunch break last Friday. The holders of the drawing's two other winners have yet to come forward. Those were sold in Ohio and Virginia.
