Kaep isn't entirely blameless in this too. There was an opportunity in Seattle and it fell through. Most likely he 1) wanted too much money; 2) didn't -- (edited)

want to be a backup.

After the Seahawks fell through, NBC or someone similar put a story that it was the 'hawks fault because they didn't want a challenge for the starting QB position. That to me sounds a bit delusional, so I think its Kaep's camp spinning things.
