To be clear, that would be 64th in pay among quarterbacks in the league. So it's basically ridiculous. You're talking about a guy you would -- (edited)

either bring in to be your starter, to create real competition for that job or at worst you would want him as back-up on a contending team as security if you lost your starter. Any of those positions warrant much higher pay. So saying that turning down an awful offer means he's trying to make a statement about race is a huge leap. For god's sake the bears are paying Mark Sanchez $2 million/yr. Mark Sanchez!!
