It's to create focal points for misplaced aggression.
I'm through playing that game.
I never heard if Plato and Aristotle got straight A's or not. So, I don't care whether some professor is doing it, either.
Let's talk about real issues of substances instead. If someone posts a list of that professor's syllabus, that's a much more interesting and useful conversation imo.
To a larger point, the hidden agenda of those sorts of news articles is to discourage people from higher education so that they'll be easier to trick/manipulate. That's the type of insidious behavior that can't go unchecked.
