I set irrigation lines. One day the farmer got a call from another farmer down the road. He gathered all the Mexicans and gave them extra money and

sent them off to Boise for the day.

About three hours later, INS showed up. They asked him where his crew was. He said "out there, working". They said essentially "You run this entire farm with high school kids? Bullshit" He said "Do you see anyone else working here?" They left.

I realized I was getting paid well to be cover.

btw, if anyone gets snippy, back in those days it was all Mexicans - we didn't have Central American immigrants there back then
