I'm only vaguely aware of Seeso. I saw a weird news item recently where Dan Harmon's show got bought/delayed the *day before* the season started. -- (edited)

I presume that was the early warning signal on this.
As for VRV, we're seeing a weird new thing emerging in streaming and all other forms of personal branding. A person just takes the content of someone else and uses it to boost their own numbers. Legally, it's okay to do this as long as you're just "hosting" someone else. What it does is artificially increase the numbers of these streamers/brands.
What you're describing about VRV sounds like the corporate version of this, at least with regards to those other major brands. What they're getting out of it is advertising leveraged off of someone else's assets, and they've apparently done it well enough to have the capital to buy some stuff outright.
My suspicion is that this ties into our conversation last night. VRV is doing the math that content is expensive, so they're buying cheap stuff when they see it available.
But you're a lot better at this vodcast stuff than I am. Do you see it a different way?
