I think it's people who want to be spoilers. They feel left out of the prosperity most of the blue States have and don't feel they are getting

anything, so instead of voting out the people who have done nothing for them, they want to stop the people who are doing well from getting what they want. It's an act of desperation and also a lot of white supremacists. They don't care if Trump is hurting them, as long as the people they don't like, don't like it. Also, politics has become a religion in many red areas. Facts have nothing to do with it, it's just blind faith.
