I had an excellent time at the Museum of Natural Arts and Sciences in Houston today. I especially liked the butterfly exhibit. While there were plenty

of youngsters all around (several summer camps were there today, and of the 7-8 year old variety) it wasn't too too bad when it came to the general ruckus levels. I didn't get a chance to really pour over everything since we only were there for 4 hours. It's free today 3-6pm so we bolted once the masses started coming.

There is far too much space devoted to Texas maps.

I really enjoyed the gemstone and mineral area. While the vault itself was closed due to the munchkins, what was on display was quite fascinating. However, too many items had no identification tags, only apologies for their upcoming notice. All the Faberge stuff was nuts.
