and just having a gene in common with peanuts doesn't mean there'll be an immune response, or even that it's possible. Immune responses are very specific and don't happen at the level of DNA.
And let's say there's some fish DNA incorporated into a tomato (one of the splices I'm aware of). And? Fish is food, tomatoes are food.
Nutritional value is easy to test and if they fail at improving it, well, then it's still just the basic food.
