You are correct. I guess it's still alternative rock, with all the popular indie rock of today thrown in

The local alt rock stations influence each other quite a bit because they try to steal each others audiences. IIRC when Indie 103 rose and then fell, they added a lot of indie rock and pop and timeless garage rock (i.e. Cage the Elephant, Black Keys). KROQ also has an older audience to appease so they have shows that deal with the "flashback" side and you can still expect to hear How Soon Is Now by the Smiths and Love Song by the Cure in rotation. Last time I checked anyway.
