It's not that they saw the sign and knew what was coming. They were using a guy in their video booth to relay the signs down to a guy on the field.

If you steal signs by seeing them it's just fine. It's a problem when you're using video and an Apple watch to relay the signs. Eyes are okay. Technology is not.
