The Nvidia 10x0 series is IMO, the best around right now. It is very new and a HUGE jump in performance from the type of cards recommended in your specs
I have a 1070 at home and can do VR and play everything I ever wanted to play.
My son as a 1060 in his laptop and while I think it is just short of VR, it still plays every game.
The 1050 then is a very very solid card in the budget price range that is still in this family
