I had a 330 pm meeting with Jeff*, who is the manager of my IT Project Management team. we needed to hash out some PM assignments
|
that were making time tracking an inaccurate mess --
like "why is angela on this project? she doesn't even work in IT" and "has robert secretly been fired? he has zero access"
so we're sitting in a conference room and jeff is projecting and he's looking down a list of names, searching for angela. we have hundreds of people in IT, so it's taking too long. "you can probably use control-F to search for her name," I say.
jeff presses ctrl-F and OHMYGOD a search window comes up and he types in "ange..." and the window finds her.
"you just taught me something new!" he said. "we should be able to finish much faster now."
to sum things up:
jeff works in IT
jeff manages project management
jeff makes twice as much money as I do
jeff doesn't know what control-F is
I need a drink.
*note: jeff is his real name. why the hell not?
