Which is a pretty reasonable assumption. And you only need a small percentage of males that cheat to achieve the same result.

Let's go with the model I laid out, but we'll assume that 2 of the 100 men are unfaithful to their partners, and they aren't the ones we pick to leave the population. I picked 2% because it's obviously a much lower number than the proportion of cheating males in real life.
99 men, 100 women - 99 couples, plus 1 man sleeps with the partner-less woman. Result - 100 babies.
98 men, 100 women - 98 couples, plus 2 men sleep with the 2 partner-less women. Still 100 babies.
97 men, 100 women - 97 couples - plus I'm sure over a year the 2 men can find time between them to impregnate the 3 partnerless women. 100 babies. Same result.
You have to have a very low number of males relative to females (much lower than what occurs in the real world) for it to impact the number of births.
