Yeah, and also, when I was a kid I didn't realize my grandmother was Irish. I just thought grandparents sounded like that.

My grandfather had died before I was born (as had my other grandfather) but we lived next door (for the first few years of my life) my Dad's brother. He had married a woman whose parents also immigrated from Ireland (Kerry area) and they also lived on our street (as did my grandmother and my dad's sister and her family. Because we roll like that)

So anyway, all the grandparents I knew had Irish accents so I just assumed that was a grandparent accent.
