er, there's a mistake right near the beginning.

it's not actually "happy new year" - it's a shortened version of have a good or sweet year, and there's more to it than me just being particular. (I fear reading more will make me correct more, so not gonna.)

TIL recently, there are some people who are a variation of grammar-b!tches about the inclusion of l' for l'shanah - even though it's very commonly used by many many jews and those who well-wish. I've done with and without my whole life, never seen a peep about it. weird.
