The Good Place spoils and speculation

Alright, here's where I think this season is going:
Shawn is playing Michael and it is a continuation of his torture of Michael from season 1.
Michael knows he is in The Bad Place, but thinks he's an employee. Actually, he's human. The first season saw him in bureaucratic hell where the torture was boredom.
Then he's given the opportunity to move up, but his grand design falls apart pretty quickly. That's his new torture. Tahani, Jason, Eleanor and Chidi are all humans and completely unaware that Michael is the mark, but were chosen to be difficult to predict and control in the setting Michael designed.
So this season will be Michael continually failing at keeping the four humans in the dark and trying to avoid Shawn's judgement.
Also, enormous butthole spiders!?
