the are certain archa-types of weapons that have variances between them (one gun might have exploding bullets while another would have say bonus damage for the last rounds of a clip). Typically the best archatypes are what people flock too, with style/feel of gun being the decider on an individual basis.
The "metta" for the game currently says that guns like Uriel's gift, which is part of the 450 rounds-per-minute archatypes is the boss for pvp. Other guns like this are the Scathlocke, Prosecutore (available from Trials I believe), Origin Story, and a few others.
