this reminded me that I had nurses stop twice for accidents.

the first time, a male Kaiser nurse helped hold back bushes (that my car had been pushed into when someone slammed into my on a morning commute) so I could exit. car was totaled, but no major injuries - phew.
the second was the big accident - an ICU nurse got into the passenger seat next to me, let me use her phone to call my sister (my phone had been flung down by my icky ankle). she held my hand and commiserated until paramedics and firemen arrived.
I've experienced a full range of nurses, from choose-another-career-please to angelic. the good ones make such a difference, even outside of their workplaces.
