I chaperoned a field trip today. One of the teachers told me a story that made me chuckle.

This woman is not N’s teacher, but he has spent a few days in her classroom. She is able to deal with N’s behavior issues and she has gifted/talented background, so she can keep him occupied with appropriate tasks. He spends the day in her class on days when a sub is covering in his regular class.

She said that the other day she was doing math in her head, trying to figure out how many worksheets she needed to copy. She’s muttering “4x6, that’s 24, plus 5...” One of the kids raises his hand and goes “why don’t you go ask Nathan? He’d know the answer!”

Her: “You’re right, he probably would.”

Heh.
