Putting it a different way: movie ticket sales are way down, and nobody is kneeling.

TV ratings are down worse for shows where nobody's kneeling.
Given the violence, the fundamental change in consumer behavior, and other factors, the miracle is that NFL ratings are this good.
But stupid people read stupid talking points and parrot them. At one point, conservative leaders were the ringleaders in this behavior. Today, a few garbage websites lead the lemmings down the wrong path. (And then Strongbad links to them.)
