I took his point to be: Everyone looked the other way forever and now are pretending like they didn't.

And that more people got hurt because of that professional silence.
And I agree with that line of thinking just as I understand that it's not applicable to the actual victims, just the assholes who exchanged silence for industry favors.
There's a lot of different troublesome issues at play in this one giant issue.
