here's the thing, and what the diet doc I am seeing is saying,

that even though the sweetner has no calories, that your body still thinks it is sugar.

It is best to acquire the taste for iced tea with lemon or plain. If you need to flavor your water, a lemon or lime wedge in it, or even get an infuser. (although they don't add a ton of flavor, it gives it just a little kick)

I know how hard it is, I used to drink a 12 pack of soda a week, minimum.
