From below, many of these Ivy/high endowment schools offer free tuition for students with low parental income.

I.e. Stanford gives any student a free ride if their parents make less than $125k. That's who gets hurt.

I’m more thinking of people who make multi-million dollar gifts to endow scholarships, professorships, etc.
