Seems pretty applicable to most non-home situations. Good stuff to think about.
We actually had our bi-yearly safety training at work, which includes an active shooter piece. This video is the centerpiece, along with discussion about how it applies to our workplace (movie theater).
It actually made me feel better about our safety and what we can and shouldn't do and how we can respond or shouldn't respond. I won't elaborate why, since it may give the wrong impression to anyone here whose workplace is different from mine ("Oh, you have this and I don't? Well then I am screwed!" or "You don't have this but I do? Oh, well then I am *totally* going to survive an active shooter then!"). Just watch the video or read the materials.
