I get it about the dlc. I like the game enough to get the dlc, though I share your frustration about the mission 1/4 of the game (the raid), though maybe not about Trials (we dont communicate/function as a group well enough to make that even partially enjoyable). Granted even if we were doing the raid weekly that would only last for a month or so before it got boring to some degree too.
the problem with destiny is that we will consume the basic game faster than they can expand (and their expansions arent large enough to feed for more than 3-4 weeks at a normal players rate). I know I need to find another game to play some, so I can get less burned out on destiny. I mean I enjoy playing, though sometimes I get frustrated (sorry jax and spawn, I was a bit cranky last night) because of how the different levels of involvement inside our clan mean that not everyone has the same basic understanding and it makes it even harder to do some thing that can be difficult (like nightfall).
admittedly, there are times I consider leaving the ST clan for a larger group that has more consistent raid groupings. I am also somewhat hopeful that Bungie can make the guided games better, but I doubt it because of the limitations they put in place (in the raid, if someone drops the whole party is dropped - from what I understand - and not everyone gets a checkpoint). Though using the LFG website is always an act of frustration, so there are no great alternatives here.
