I was pretty much floored. Took me by surprise, since I was not that impressed with In Bruges or Seven Psychopaths. Three Billboards is just a really good yarn. It's full of surprises (as usual, I went in having seen minimal ads, etc.). Some whiplash-inducing tonal shifts that, amazingly enough, all work pretty well for me: so much so that I think that is an achievement.

The cast is *great*. Oscar worthy? Who knows, since it is very funny and Oscar dislikes comedies. It might be the funniest movie I've seen all year that isn't in the comedy genre.

Oh, but it also gets you. If not for one head-scratching moment, I would say this movie was perfect. What a pleasant surprise.
