i didn't either, but the train system overall is just the best...

they run on time, the stations are spotless, when you get on there's automated signs that tell you EXACTLY when you'll get to your stop. they run on time so much that if you're Japanese and they run late for some reason, they'll give you a note to give to your employer because there's no way your boss will accept the excuse that your train was late.
i even made americans look good by giving up my seat to someone with a kid and got approving nods all around!
