On the flip side, I know people who did start out in work relationships where one supervised the other and have been in long lasting relationships.

It can get very grey in those areas where its not just the supervisor/senior who is exploiting their power. Now, there is no way in hell I would wade into that grey area nor would I ever advise someone to do it. But some people are less risk averse than I am. Some of them are assholes and should get in trouble. Some get into real relationships and I'm not sure what to do with that.
