He still backs out to the outdoor part of his kennel every time a man walks into the shelter, but after going in with treats for him almost every day, and just sitting in his kennel with him until I gained his trust, we’ve become best buds and he gets so excited to see me every day.

He’s not so patiently waiting for a homemade treat that a local high school animal club made for us in this picture. I love the goober look on his face with his tongue hanging out.
