There was a scene where they rattled off 3 20th/early-21st Century television references inside of 15 seconds - each from a different character.
There’s gotta be something up with that. Either the show takes place entirely in someone’s head, or they have mandated history lessons at the academy.
Or maybe we should believe that they’re actually making contemporary references for them, and they’re being translated into contemporary references for us.
Like how Mozart and Beethoven were the original Tay Tay and Beyoncé.
