Our parent company wants me to give them a number by the end of next week. I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry but I'll start by explaining that we likely won't even know the rules by then.

I've posted before that the scuttlebutt is that they want a bill back through the Senate before 12/18 because they have to seat the AL Senator by that day. That would mean a signing date just before Christmas and my having to work (and a lot) between Christmas and New Year's.

A major change like this enacted in late December is the nightmare of tax people.
