I don't always get quite the level of service here I might at a North American restaurant, but it's not jarringly different, and at good restaurants it's at least the same.

and while you might think you're a good/equitable tipper, you're probably not. or at least people on average aren't. there are likely unconscious biases (or even conscious ones) that are skewing things.

- I'm totally with you. by unconscious bias, I mean things like attractive, young waitstaff tend to get more tips. that's a very difficult thing for you - mafic Dec 4, 18:55
