I'm totally with you. by unconscious bias, I mean things like attractive, young waitstaff tend to get more tips. that's a very difficult thing for you

to control. you might try and apply rules to even it out, but unless you tip exactly the same percentage in every situation there's a good argument that you're probably tipping less sometimes because of some unconscious bias.
general you here, I try and do the same things you do when I'm in places that tip (you know, pursuant to local norms).
