huh, if I transferred everything directly to California we'd lose $1,900 under house, gain $1,300 under senate.

also I don't know what state taxes are like, but the federal tax bill for our combined income would be about the same as the entire Aussie tax on just my income.
also I still think the mortgage interest deduction is nuts (in a crazy regressive kind of way).
