On a macro level yes. I've heard micro anecdotal evidence though, like the women who voted for Trump while being married to an undocumented immigrant

She thought Trump would only deport "criminals". She didn't realize that they consider her husband a criminal as well.
My favorite anecdote is all the trolls on 4chan freaking out that they are going to end net neutrality. Dumbasses
But I think the erosion is probably more like a guy I work with. He no longer self-identifies as a Republican, he calls himself an unaffiliated conservative. Mainly because he can't deal with all the shenanigans.
