snow/ice in ATL, taking a massive amount of hours to deice planes

so they are being held at origin to avoid a glut in ATL
Nearly 1000 Delta flights canceled so far today.
Some planes in ATL are running into the 3 hour tarmac rule just waiting in line to get deiced, and are having to return to the gate to avoid breaking the 3 hour rule.
