I think they changed that story line. Yoda makes it seem like he's burning the books because they aren't that great, and Rey doesn't need them.

Yoda is a force ghost, I am pretty sure he would know they aren't in there when he sets the tree on fire.

I think someone realized they need those books for something in the next movie and stuck that scene in.

It doesn't fit right though.
