And it's all relative - you don't need to be *that* rich to have a 750k house, especially if we're talking about using this money to give tax breaks to people who are even richer. Pitting the middle class against the lower class has often been pointed out as a consequence of this bill, so it's not inconsistent in the least, as well as the "targetting blue states" aspect of it. If this money was going towards reducing burdens for lower earners or healthcare benefits or etc etc then there would be far less commentary on this issue.
