I would need to be more sales like than I am. Starting your own place is like 50% networking/sales and 50% actual work.

I dont like the sales side of things. I do it, I can talk to clients about our options and help them work through their questions, but I am not what I see here for typical sales oriented cpas.

lots of cold calls/emails based on leads. Lots of quarterly/semi-annual checkins to potential clients (otherwise called "touches" here, which can sound disturbing sometimes).
