Remember that story I posted over a year ago about an off-duty cop chasing and gunning down a teenager who broke into his truck? He was convicted of

murder today.

I have not heard if the family got anything out of the claim against the city. It at least didn't end up being a huge racial story since the officer was black.


I would like to get ST's opinions about what is going on in Farmer's Branch TX.

The situation is an off-duty cop saw some teenagers trying to break into cars at his apartment complex. He confronted them and they drove off in their own car. The cop jumped in his personal pickup, chased them down and bumped them off the road. He then proceeded to shoot into the car 17 times, killing one of the 16-year-old kids. He was fired and indicted for murder. Now the citizens want to hold the city accountable. What do you think, is the city or police force at all culpable? Note there is a lot of history. FB has been the most openly anti-immigrant area of DFW, so relations with Hispanics are not good.
