In response to "Some quick thoughts on cryptocurrency and where my head is at on this... -- (edited)" by David

I'm interested. The issue I have with it in general is scale. Yes. Ripple did it's thing. But take Cardano for example. It sits at 0.67

Even jumping to Ripple value at $2 or $3, you're only looking at a 3x return. On $100, that's not going to really get my knickers in a bunch. You have to have some kind of insane scale to do something like what Bitcoin or Ripple have done. The question is, are any of the existing "penny" coins going to do that or is even something like Ripple or Cardano going to do that?

Ripple is a very strange crypto to me because it is constructed so fundamentally differently from the others. It is designed to destroy itself during transactions if I'm not mistaken. I didn't buy it weeks ago because I couldn't see how it works as a *currency* like Bitcoin or Etherium where it does work specifically for financial transactions.

Cardano at least has the inner workings to match Ethereum which gives it at least the potential to explode.

Anyways, I'm interested. I may be trying this myself with Cardano to see what happens in any event
