I've mentioned this before, but I still remember the conversation I had with a male friend that shows different male/female conditioning of the time

In college, we were having a dorm party that went very late. I went to bed (drunk but not passed out) while other people kept partying in the common area.
About half an hour later, this dude we all knew crawled into my bed and started mildly groping me. I pretended to be asleep until he finally got frustrated and left. I was super embarrassed by how awkward the whole scene was.
As I was telling this story to a male friend, he said: "Why the hell didn't you tell him to get the fuck away from you?"
I said: "Well, I didn't want to make him feel like an asshole."
Friend said: "Why the hell not? He was BEING an asshole?!!"
I seriously had never even considered that view. I just assumed it was my responsibility to keep things cool for all involved.
Fortunately, I'm over that shit now. :)
