I think where it turned is: the media called it sexual assault when clearly it wasn't.

pushing? convincing? trying to change her mind? its not a crime. its in bad, poor taste. and no one should ever date someone like that - like ever.
she did tell him no. He tried to change her no to a yes. He didn't force her to do anything. she admits most of her actions were no verbal ques.
He's guilty of not reading the situation and being more sensitive. When she did point out the next day he did exhibit some concern - too little too late in my opinion.
