That stuff gets overblown. It doesn't hurt to ask, but they knew they wouldn't get either of those guys.

Acuna and Vlad Jr are ranked #1 and #3 in baseball right now (Otani being the other). Brinson's #18. Atlanta wouldn't even include Gohara in a package, and he's #23. So, they asked all the teams and then had to take what they could get. They had zero leverage, and there's already talk that Milwaukee should have waited them out longer.
