a year as a retention offer, ~34 for a plan that has only 25 calls a month, or low 20s for a VOIP kind of phone to keep my home number just in case.

I only have the phone in case there's a cell outage (natural disaster, etc.), and that has primarily been so my mom wouldn't worry; but she can't make calls herself, isn't likely to be worried unless there's somehow significant improvement in her condition.

zero use, zero features, plain line - ~26 a month + ~5 for surcharges + ~6 for taxes.

I appreciate that they have base costs and that part of what we pay is for when there are disasters and they have to fix everything; but $38 a month?! nutsonutso.

(ed. to fix my name. I heart Max, but that's kinda creepy to keep using.)
