Since census records and tax returns can be kept private I don't buy the audit argument, but participation is voluntary

And I think openness about the winners is actually good for the program because it humanizes the winners, and makes it seem like anyone can win. Allowing them to remain anonymous can intensify the perception that there are elites vs everyone else.
