It is not an unreasonable question. There are in fact air launched vehicles such as Orbital ATK's Pegasus. The answer has to do with scale

One would need a really, really, really large balloon or aircraft to lift the large payload and associated upper stage that the Falcon Heavy or for that matter even a Falcon 9 is designed to carry
