Dan Patrick, candidate for Governor, has been driving wedges between "real conservatives" in the Republican Party and "business conservatives." He seems to be trying to triangulate his own party.

He is attending a conservative conference in the state and said something like "just because you have 'business' in your name doesn't mean you are a true conservative" in the context of the Texas bathroom bill -- which most businesses opposed for obvious reasons. And a lot of those businesses are owned by conservative Republicans.
